Special Supervision Services Program (SSSP)

Special Supervision Services Program (SSSP) is a voluntary restricted license program under FS 322-292. The SSSP provides supervision to individuals with a 5-year, 10 year or permanent license revocation. that are eligible for a business or employment only license. Acceptance into this program is required for a restricted license during the revocation period. The SSSP is a voluntary program.


Application includes:

  • Record collection including criminal, medical and treatment records
  • A psychosocial evaluation with a certified evaluator
  • Interviews with a certified evaluator for the duration of the revocation period
  • Random alcohol and/or drug tests
  • Support group attendance and/or treatment may be required

Five Year Revocation Eligibility

  • Must wait 12 months after the date the revocation was imposed
  • Must not have driven within 12 months of application
  • Must not have used alcohol or non-prescription drugs for the past 12 months prior to application. Drugs include alcohol or so-called non-alcoholic beer or wine that contains less than 5% alcohol. Taking medication prescribed for others is considered abuse. Drug abuse does not include taking medication according to directions for its intended use.

Ten year Revocation Eligibility

  • Must wait 24 months after the revocation was imposed
  • Must not have driven within 12 months of application
  • Must not have used alcohol or non-prescription drugs for the past 12 months prior to application. Drugs include alcohol or so-called non-alcoholic beer or wine that contains less than 5 % alcohol. Taking medications prescribed for others is considered abuse. Drug abuse does not include taking medication according to directions for its intended use.

Permanent Revocation Eligibility

(Including 4 or more DUI convictions or first conviction for DUI Manslaughter)

  • Must wait 5 years after the date of last conviction or the expiration of 5 years after the termination of incarceration.
  • Must have not been arrested for a drug related offense during the 5 years preceding the application for the program
  • Must not have driven within 5 years of application
  • Must not have used alcohol or nonprescription drugs for 5 years prior to application. Drugs include alcohol or so-called non-alcoholic beer or wine that contains less than 5% alcohol. Taking medication prescribed form others is considered abuse. Drug abuse does not include taking medication according to directions for its intended use.

Ignition Interlock Requirements for SSSP

  • Ignition Interlock requirements must be met in addition to SSSP eligibility for driver’s license application

Special Supervision Services Program Application Information

  • Applicant must apply to the DUI Program in the county where the applicant lives, works or attends school unless the program of the applicant’s residence approves attendance in another county.
  • Applicant must have a hearing with the local Bureau of Administrative Reviews (BAR) office to determine initial eligibility.
  • Applicant should contact the DUI Program once you have received the letter from the BAR office advising you that you may proceed with the application process. Applicant should contact the DUI Program office as soon as possible, as the letter is good for 30 days. Failure to contact the DUI Program within 30 days will result in the applicant needing to set up another hearing with the BAR office.
  • The enrollment fee for the program is $319.00. This includes the initial Pre-Screen Interview, records fees, states assessment fees, Reduction Risk Inventory and psycho-social interview. This fee does not include drug testing. Drug testing fees will be paid directory to the lab.
  • If approved for the program, client must assume all costs associated with their participation in SSSP. Failure to comply with required supervision and fees will result in cancellation from the program. This will result in the cancellation of your driving privileges.
